KCFD Rescue Division trains in various rescue disciplines

The Kansas City Missouri Fire Department (KCFD) has a highly trained and disciplined Rescue Division under the command of Deputy Chief John Neeley. Division members are trained in a multitude of rescue disciplines that, in the event of a terrorist attack, will enhance the abilities of first responders in the area. The Rescue Division is supported by a dedicated Kansas City HazMat team and works closely with the other regional HazMat teams.

Daily staffing for each of the three Rescue Companies includes a required assignment of six on-duty personnel, of which the company officer and a minimum of three assigned personnel are trained to the Technician level in the various rescue disciplines.

The rescue companies are strategically situated throughout the city of Kansas City, Missouri for rapid deployment when the need arises. A support vehicle with additional and varied equipment is assigned to a centrally located station, and stands ready to bring additional equipment if required.
